Pitt EDGE is the University of Pittsburgh’s central hub for digital education, housed within the Office of the Provost. Launched in Fall 2024, the inaugural Center advances the University’s strategic vision for online, hybrid, and continuing education by partnering with Pitt’s 16 schools to expand access and improve quality for diverse learners. Pitt EDGE supports the full lifecycle of digital learning through services such as instructional design, technology integration, market analysis, academic planning, recruitment, and quality assurance.
Supported by Pitt EDGE, the role focuses on consulting with educators to design, develop, and deliver moderately complex instructional materials and integrate instructional technologies.
Responsibilities
- Consult with faculty and subject matter experts on the design and development of instructional materials and the integration of instructional technologies for online and hybrid courses/programs.
- Evaluate instructional needs to identify and align appropriate goals and objectives for the online and hybrid modality.
- Develop curricula for instructional programs and integrate content using appropriate instructional technologies within the LMS.
- Build online and hybrid courses within the LMS.
- Design, develop, and edit text-based, audiovisual, and multimedia content for online and hybrid programs.
- Assess instructional delivery and effectiveness, recommend teaching methods, and implement instruction and curricula improvements for online and hybrid courses/programs.
- Conduct instructional and training programs related to online and hybrid pedagogy or technology.
Physical and Work Requirements
Physical Effort: Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work with computing technology.

- Minimum Education Level Required: Master’s Degree

- 3-5 years of experience working in higher education

- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Work Arrangement: Remote — Teams working from different locations (off-campus).
