As a critical leader on the Product, Experience Design & Innovation team, the Senior Product Designer for Emerging Technologies will partner with the AI product and development teams to reimagine our digital products across the enterprise. The successful candidate will design human-centered experiences that integrate AI capabilities, ensuring they are intuitive, ethical, and valuable for users. The role requires a mix of UX design, UI design, interaction design, AI understanding, experience with apps, and strategic thinking. Job Responsibilities
Design and deliver intuitive, visually compelling interactive interfaces that reflect the brand and meet accessibility standards, with a strong focus on UI quality, visual design, and interaction craft. Demonstrate a keen eye for detail across layout, hierarchy, motion, and typography, producing high-quality work that elevates product experiences and design consistency. Apply and contribute to design systems, ensuring scalable, elegant solutions across AI-powered and traditional product surfaces. Develop sketches, journey maps, workflow diagrams, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and interaction flows to visualize complex AI behaviors and adaptive user experiences. Lead end-to-end prototyping efforts using tools like Figma, Protopie, Voiceflow, or custom solutions—especially for conversational, voice, or generative interfaces. Partner with Principal Designer, engineering, and product teams throughout the project lifecycle to validate AI and dynamic system behaviors against design intent, providing actionable feedback during design QA cycles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business goals, technical constraints, user needs, and emerging AI capabilities. Work with User Researchers and fellow Designers to ensure cross-application design consistency and to solve ecosystem-wide UX challenges. Partner with engineering and product teams throughout the project lifecycle — validating AI or dynamic system behaviors against design intent, and providing clear, actionable feedback during design QA cycles. AI Strategy & Collaboration: Partner with AI leads to drive the UX Roadmap and AI strategy framework through partnership with key leaders and other Principal Designers to ensure cohesive product experiences across lines of business and overarching AI strategy. Collaborate with Principal Designer and other senior team members, incorporating feedback with a growth mindset and a focus on shared outcomes. Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and AI Researchers to ground AI features in user needs and expectations. Advocate for ethical AI use, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and fairness in AI-driven experiences. Act as a design thinking evangelist—demonstrating how thoughtful, inclusive design fuels more impactful, trustworthy AI products. Influence key product and business stakeholders with strong visual storytelling, data-informed insights, and customer-centered rationale. AI Literacy & Emerging Technologies: Stay current on emerging AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, personalization, generative UIs, automation) and apply them thoughtfully in product design. Identify opportunities to integrate AI in ways that enhance usability, relevance, and user delight. Design for AI-specific challenges, including handling uncertainty, confidence thresholds, edge cases, and system transparency. Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human-centered design, computer science, HCI, psychology, or equivalent professional experience. 4–7 years of experience in UX, UI, product design, or digital strategy roles, with a strong cross-functional collaboration track record. Demonstrated experience designing and shipping high-quality digital products that include AI or adaptive behaviors. Demonstrated expertise in advanced, non-linear interaction design, with a strong attention to detail across micro-interactions, motion, and fluid transitions—shaping interfaces that feel intuitive, expressive, and alive. Exceptional portfolio showcasing visual design excellence, thoughtful interaction design, and a command of UI and prototyping best practices. Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools (e.g., Protopie, Framer, Voiceflow, or similar); experience with conversational and multi-modal UI design preferred. Strong understanding of and experience applying design systems in production environments. Ability to lead highly complex, technical projects in fast-paced, cross-functional environments. Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills—able to influence and align with technical and executive stakeholders. Receptive to feedback and able to iterate quickly; thrives in collaborative environments and values team success. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity through design. Base Pay Range: $97,300 - $175,500. Corporate Bonus Target: 15%. The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The actual pay will be based on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular roles are eligible for annual bonuses or incentives based on role and performance. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance. Some positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses.
