Temporary Learning and Development Partner, Juvenile Probation, 1232 – City and County of San Francisco. This is a full-time, temporary position with an anticipated duration of approximately 6 months. The Learning and Development (L&D) Partner supports an inclusive learning environment, evolves learning strategies, and partners with JPD management and staff to facilitate training needs and curriculum development aligned with JPD’s mission. Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate training for JPD staff, including evidence-based practices in community corrections, probation, behavior change, trauma-informed practices, family engagement, officer safety and supervision, arrest procedures, de-escalation, and conflict resolution. Manage Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) credits and records to ensure compliance with BSCC annual training requirements. Research and identify new training programs, seminars, or workshops to meet learning needs and BSCC requirements. Coordinate training programs, events, seminars, and conferences, including scheduling activities and arranging facilities. Prepare training schedules and course description guides; monitor attendance and compliance. Propose, promote, and develop training programs across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats. Design assessment tools (interviews, questionnaires, surveys) to assess learning needs and tailor instructional design and content. Ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective training; evaluate program effectiveness and outcomes. Administer training programs that involve contractors by preparing budget estimates and cost justifications. Conduct training sessions that include presentations, group discussions, and leading group activities. Qualifications
Minimum: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and two (2) years of verifiable experience designing, organizing, and conducting employee training programs. Substitution options: additional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis; Master of Arts degree may substitute for one year of experience; verifiable experience in teaching adults and developing lesson plans may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Desirable: Commitment to diversity and inclusive learning; proficiency with modern training methods and technologies; strong relationship management skills; passion for culture; attention to detail and project delivery; demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
