Principal Systems Engineer
to join the Precision Navigation (PNav) Systems and Software Department for Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) solutions for air defense, air control, and self-protection missions in airborne and ground applications. The Systems Engineering Test team is involved in all aspects of Systems Design and Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V). This team, based at Aberdeen Proving Ground, is responsible for supporting backend system engineering on multiple IFF product lines. The ideal candidate should be experienced performing back end systems engineering tasks which include establishing methods and techniques for verification, planning tests, developing test requirements, creating new tests, writing test procedures and test reports. The candidate should feel comfortable taking on leadership roles, creating requirements, performing systems integration, gaining hands-on experience in both the lab and the field, and creating documentation. What Will You Do
Perform tasks lead duties (task planning, estimates, product owner, cost account manager) Integrate hardware and software into IFF systems, evaluating their functionality and impact Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation and perform/execute the testing Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging Develop documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders Work with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality Travel less than 20% to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations Mentoring of junior engineers in systems engineering Qualifications You Must Have
Proficient in Systems Integration & Qualification Activities: systems integration, requirements analysis, procedure development, test development, test execution and evaluation of results Experience with Digital Engineering Tools (DOORS, Cameo, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) Experience generating technical documentation and managing small projects Experience with radio, radar or secondary radar systems Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience Qualifications We Prefer
Prior experience leading and managing technical projects Experience Supporting Proposal or Basis of Estimates Experience with secondary and primary RADAR systems Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI or TestStand suite of tools Experience with DoD AIMS 03-1000 and AIMS 17-1000, Technical Standard for the ATCRBS/IFF/Mk IIA Electronics Identification and Military Implementation of Mode S Experience with NATO STANAG 4193, Technical Characteristics of IFF Mk XIIA and Mk II Interrogators and Transponders Active Secret Security Clearance What We Offer

This role is a U.S.-based position requiring U.S. citizenship for security clearance. The salary range is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD and may vary by experience, location, and other factors.
