Overview Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking a

Mechanical Engineer

to join our Nuclear business unit. The ideal candidate will possess a background in mechanics/structural engineering and be responsible for engineering consulting work supporting the energy industry. The role will support project teams in stress analysis, fatigue and fracture mechanics and related fields. The work environment is a dynamic team based on project requirements. Each project team is usually led by an industry expert and composed of engineers from various engineering disciplines such as fracture mechanics, stress analysis, structural dynamics, and material science.

Primary Responsibilities

Analysis of power plant structures, pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating equipment and other power plant components using both classical and numerical methods

Fracture mechanics and stress analyses using the guidelines in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code

Supporting the finite element analysis team

Support fatigue management programs for various components

Participation in design and repair projects of pressure vessel/piping components

Skills/Qualifications

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline (MS degree)

3+ years of related engineering experience with BS degree (or 1+ years with MS degree)

Proficiency with ANSYS Workbench

Knowledge of ASME BPV Code (Section III and Section XI)

Proficiency in technical writing and communication skills

EIT Certification (PE License)

Pay Range The expected salary range for this role in San Jose, CA is $75,760 to $113,640 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.
