Accountable for building and developing a new Capital Assets team of 9 members, including Supervisors and Specialists, along with their teams of direct reports. Oversee the accurate recording and financial reporting of GDS US Capital expenditures and PP&E Assets. Ensure integrity of results from financial processes through the development and execution of sound internal control processes and procedures that ensure compliance with SOX, regulatory requirements, and US GAAP. Proactively identify, oversee and encourage team members to find new ways to achieve strategic objectives while looking for operational improvement, efficiency opportunities and harmonization of processes, including using technology capabilities. Provide guidance to internal business clients to facilitate their compliance with Enbridge’s Capitalization Policy and governance processes and liaise with GDS Capital Management to ensure consistency in interpretation and application of policy and processes across GDS. Oversee the accurate and timely delivery of information to fulfill requests from external parties and serve as an expert resource to auditors, regulators, and industry experts (may include appearing as a witness for regulatory proceedings). Coordinate, plan and oversee delivery of information to Financial Reporting, FP&A, Tax, Regulatory and other stakeholder groups to ensure requirements are met on a timely basis with relevant information. Ensure the complement and skills of the Capital Assets team are sufficient to meet current and future requirements and that staff is appropriately used and challenged in their roles. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Accounting designation or equivalent certification is preferred but not required. 8+ years of progressive financial management experience with business performance analytics related roles. Broad business acumen and understanding of regulatory environments / financial management strategies and reporting requirements. Understanding of underlying business drivers / priorities and their connection and impacts on other areas of the business. Highly developed leadership competencies: inspiring change and innovation, interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, persuasion and influencing skills, and critical thinking. Proven track record of leading teams, prioritizing work schedules, and implementing new processes. Ability to think strategically and conceptualize future state with planning and execution experience. Critical / independent thinking to synthesize high volumes of information and understand implications for underlying processes. Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills, diplomacy, and ability to build a network of contacts. Ability to work through difficult situations and deal with conflict. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey simple to sophisticated ideas appropriate to the audience. Proficient in managing and overseeing multiple, concurrent projects. High credibility through personal leadership. Strong client service orientation. Working Conditions
