Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) invites applications for two substantive Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist posts based at Royal Hampshire County Hospital. The posts will provide cover for both obstetrics and gynaecology. Post 1 has a specialist interest in Early Pregnancy and rapid access gynaecology; Post 2 has a specialist interest in Obstetrics including maternal medicine. The ability to provide obstetric ultrasound scanning would be advantageous. Both posts are available to start immediately. These are full time posts attracting 10 PAs. The successful candidate will be based primarily at Winchester site (The Royal County Hampshire Hospital) but all staff are expected to work across sites if needed (Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover). There is a 1 in 9 non-resident on-call commitment providing cover for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Closing date: 20 November 2025 Main duties

All applicants should have completed the Labour Ward ATSM module and further ATSMs as relevant to the advertised post. Applicants are expected to have been awarded CCT (or be within 6 months of award of CCT at the time of interview) and be on the GMC Specialist Register. About us

Professional Qualifications

MBBS or equivalent MRCOG or equivalent Full GMC Registration with a license to practise Entry on the Specialist Register (or CCT expected within 6 months of date of interview) Advanced Labour ward ATSM or equivalent Special interest ATSM or equivalent experience Demonstrable expertise in Fetal Medicine (Post 2) or Gynaecology scanning (Post 1) Experience & Knowledge

Able to deal independently with common emergencies in general obstetrics and gynaecology Committed to safe and woman centred Obstetrics Experience of working in the NHS for at least 1 year Accredited expertise in the area of declared interest ALSO, PROMPT or MOET instructor Adult Basic Life Support training up to date within 12 months Neonatal resuscitation training up to date within 12 months Emergency drills training up to date within 12 months Skills & Ability

Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients Proven ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and display leadership Ability to offer MVA (Post 1) Expertise in Diabetic AN Care (Post 2) Research & Teaching

Experience of teaching and supervising junior medical and midwifery staff. Evidence of undertaking an audit, service review or guideline which improved patient care Formal training in teaching eg Training the Trainers Course Experience of managing emergency drills training Publications in peer reviewed journals Experience of giving presentations at local/regional/national level Other specific requirements
