Now a wholly owned subsidiary of Robinson Helicopter Company, we’re growing fast, and we’re looking for motivated, highly skilled individuals to join our team. If this sounds like you, we’re hiring an Autonomy Software Engineer to implement and optimize navigation, perception, and control algorithms for our next-generation UAVs. This full-time position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, Massachusetts. Some domestic and international travel may be required. Responsibilities

Deploy and optimize autonomy features such as visual navigation, obstacle avoidance, and precision landing on onboard computers. Integrate computer vision pipelines and perception modules using conventional and machine learning-based techniques. Implement real-time architectures to manage perception, control, and communication modules onboard UAV platforms using ROS and other robotics frameworks. Collaborate with other teams to integrate autonomy features with ArduPilot or PX4 flight stacks. Perform flight tests and simulations to validate autonomous behavior and improve robustness in real-world conditions. Support system debugging, documentation, and integration with broader avionics and GCS components. Qualifications & Skills

Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. MSc in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred). 3+ years post-graduate professional experience. Required Skills

Experience with SLAM, visual odometry, or sensor fusion techniques. Working knowledge of computer vision and machine learning techniques for robotics. Proficiency with ROS (ROS1 or ROS2) and related robotics software frameworks. Comfortable working with high-performance onboard computers and sensor integration (e.g., stereo cameras, depth sensors, GPS/IMU). Proficiency in Python and C++ in a robotics context. Preferred Skills

Hands-on experience with ArduPilot and/or PX4 flight control systems. Knowledge of Gazebo or other simulation tools for autonomous systems testing. Compensation
