The Senior Project Accountant is responsible to carry out all assigned accounting duties and work closely with project managers to help ensure profitability of projects. This includes billing preparation in accordance with contracts, performing cost assessments, and managing all aspects of the financial process for assigned projects. The Senior Project Accountant has advanced knowledge of Deltek billing procedures, mentors junior Project Accountants, and communicates effectively with a variety of technical, professional, and managerial professionals. This role monitors all aspects of the financial progress of assigned projects, including the review of contract terms and monthly project multipliers, comparing baseline to estimate at completion and notifying Project Managers of significant variances. The Senior Project Accountant ensures collection of invoice payment. Reports to the Project Accounting Manager. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for project set-up and maintenance, which includes contract review; subcontract review; cost proposal/project budget review/revision; project number creation and budget entry; billing guideline formation; billing government and private clients. Coordinate with subconsultants to meet monthly invoicing deadlines. Understand the areas of compensation and payment clauses; overhead rates; revenue enhancers, and other portions of contracts, including basic contract language; flow down provisions from the prime/DB/owner contract. Prepares invoices for all assigned projects on a monthly, interim and milestone basis. Submits invoices via client billing portals when required. Take ownership of project administration role, demonstrating initiative in providing creative solutions and process leadership to internal clients. Reports on monthly billing and contract status. Responsible for accounts receivable of assigned projects, including making regular collections calls and informing management of problem accounts. Oversees companywide client balances over 90 days, reviews AR notes and contacts PA/PM to ensure follow-up progress is current and effective. Attend monthly project reviews for assigned projects. Conducts financial closeout review of all Collins’ projects to ensure billings and cost budgets are complete and ready to close. Reconcile job-to-date project overhead billings to client project closeout audits. Monitor subcontractor actuals costs against contract terms. Oversees and reports on unbilled projects for month-end close. Assists in reviewing, tracking, and posting in-house direct expense items. Fields calls and emails from various internal customers and assists whenever possible. Mentors junior project accountants and helps troubleshoot with complex billing requirements. Serves as backup to the Corporate Accountant’s daily deposit duties. Responsible for daily bank reconciliation and daily cash posting journals, providing backup for daily scanned deposits. Responsible for semi-monthly timesheet review and posting, time reporting and approvals for project manager review. Responsible for Collins Vehicle GPS Tracking system maintenance and reporting. Performs special projects for the Project Accounting Manager, Controller and Chief Financial Officer as needed. Other duties may be assigned. Note:
