Our client, a rapidly growing real estate investment firm, is seeking a Director of Property Accounting to oversee investment and asset management reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This position will manage a team of 4 and work closely across departments including ownership/asset management, property management and leasing, while also working with outside parties including institutional clients (third-party owners, JV equity partners and lenders). Responsibilities: Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties Interface with 3rd party institutional clients, JV partners, lenders, and internal ownership Oversee property accounting staff, including property accountants, AP and AR team Review annual CAM/Insurance/Tax reconciliations with the property accountants, leasing team and asset management team Review bank reconciliations Ensure timely completion of annual budgets with information from property management, leasing and asset management teams Complete annual audit as necessary with third-party auditors Work with third-party public accounting firms to ensure accurate and timely filing of annual tax returns Oversee 1099 reporting with outside CPA firm Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in the commercial real estate industry CPA preferred but not required Experience with property management software such as Yardi or MRI Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX, MATCH, and Pivot Tables) Leadership capabilities with experience managing others Seniority level
