Location: Secaucus, New Jersey. Department: Sales. Position: Field Sales Engineer. Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are market leaders for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for Telecom/Datacom and diverse markets. Our global headquarters are in Nashua, NH with design, sales, and manufacturing locations worldwide. We are seeking Field Sales Engineers to join our Enterprise and Data Center Sales teams in Secaucus, NJ. Wage: Depends on Experience. Be among the first 25 applicants four days ago. Responsibilities
Interface with external customers and internal product development, product marketing, and applications teams. Sell and promote Amphenol products within an assigned territory and defined accounts, either through WSP/OEM customers and/or distributors, via successful design win (AVL) activities and total channel management. Help devise strategies to differentiate our products and solutions from competitors. Broaden customer base and increase penetration at existing accounts, including key global accounts. Provide sales leadership and work closely with Field Applications Engineering and Business Units. Identify interconnect opportunities/applications of Amphenol products for clients and collaborate with the customer engineering team to design in new products. Develop and implement sales plans and growth strategies for territory and customers. Meet and exceed objectives and sales quota via new design wins and management of the sales channel. Support technical aspects of the sales cycle including marketing support for product development and implementation. Provide customer service to solve complex interconnect problems and respond to technical inquiries. Track orders and revenue by customer; maintain samples, delivery dates, part drawings and specifications, and address quality or credit issues as needed. Develop understanding of the market and competition in the territory; stay informed of new products and information relevant to customers. Travel required. Qualifications
Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Business/Marketing aptitude or Bachelor's in Business with technical sales experience. Knowledge of interconnect solutions industry. 5+ years of field sales and applications experience, or related experience (inside sales or customer service with interconnect, passive, electromechanical components). Knowledge of international business practices is a plus. Skills
Sales skills to negotiate technical design wins, vendor status, contracts, and customer partnerships. Technical aptitude with ability to acquire product and application knowledge, and to address customer design challenges. Self-motivated and driven to pursue new customers and markets. Strong communication across engineering and management functions; excellent oral and written communication for customer service and relationships. Organizational skills to plan and exceed objectives; leadership to drive opportunities in a global account environment. Knowledge of modeling tools Pro/E or SolidWorks; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
