TPG Hotels and Resorts The Sr. Sales Manager is responsible for growing overall revenue and profitability, while maximizing customer satisfaction from pre-event planning through post-event phases of service. This role requires spending more than 50% of the time engaged in outside sales activities, including soliciting new and repeat business through a proactive, consultative sales approach. The Sr. Sales Manager actively meets with clients, conducts site visits, and participates in external networking and industry events to drive business growth. A key component of the role is cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key hotel personnel to enhance the overall business relationship with the hotel, while ensuring a seamless client experience throughout all phases of service.

Responsibilities

Solicit and secure hotel business through a proactive, consultative sales approach, identifying and pursuing new outside sales opportunities via networking, cold calling, and market research.

Planning and implementing marketing plans in conjunction with the General Manager.

Utilize current software systems (Delphi), marketing tools and standard procedures to support sales activities.

Implement and update hotel marketing tools as needed.

Write and utilize a quarterly sales action plan.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key hotel personnel and meet client needs through attending client meetings, creating and maintaining organized show files and responding to client concerns, questions, and problems.

Assist with reporting as necessary on a weekly/monthly basis.

Provide operational support during shows, driving sales programs with team members.

Collaborate strategically with various departments to achieve the hotel’s goals.

Maintain existing accounts as well as proactively solicit new business.

Increase revenues by soliciting group business which may include banquet food and beverage, room/site rental, AV, and other revenues through proactive solicitation and responding to leads.

Meet and exceed established targets.

Participate in industry and civic organizations, networking to gain opportunities for new business. Proactively pursue, organize, and book group business with or without banquet needs for the hotel.

May be responsible for business transient travel – share shift accounts from the competition, grow share of existing accounts, and negotiate rates and concessions that align with the hotel's budget and strategies.

Maintain ongoing knowledge of the competition's product and current marketing trends.

Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision-making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.

Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements And Skills

Be an outgoing and welcoming personality for the role.

Follow written and/or verbal instructions without issue.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in relevant software and ability to learn new tools.

Be available for work during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Have 3 years of Sales Manager experience or equivalent.

Delphi and MS Office experience or willingness to learn new tools.

Complete required Sales Reports.

Physical Demands

Occasionally lifting/pulling/pushing up to 10-50 pounds.

Alternately walk and stand throughout the shift.

Occasionally reach overhead and at or below shoulder level.

Occasionally stoop, crouch, crawl and reach.

Frequently ascend and descend ramps and stairs.

Constantly hear, understand, and distinguish speech in various settings.

Constantly maintain clear vision to see objects and people.

Travel This position will require travel more than 50% of your shift. Mileage is reimbursed. A good driving record and valid driver’s license is required.

Environmental Conditions The job is fast paced and requires flexibility and adaptability to business changes. It is usually indoors but may occasionally require exposure to mild to inclement weather.
