Consultant, Ocean Modeler

ERM . ERM is seeking to join our Water Resources, Climate Change, and Modeling team. As a modeler, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and focus on integrating these functions to develop modelling studies that provide value to our clients. This is an opportunity to utilize your educational background, analytical skills, and technical expertise to participate in water-related environmental assessment and permitting for large-scale capital projects. Responsibilities
Develop applications of hydrodynamic, sediment transport and water quality models to freshwater and marine environments; Assist and execute the application of hydraulic and hydrologic models to natural and urban watersheds; Assist in quantitative impact assessment studies related to client operations in lacustrine, riverine, and marine environments; Use geospatial data analytics and related software (ArcGIS or similar), calculations and models to address impact, regulatory and climate change issues; Acquire and process datasets, monitor model applications, perform supporting calculations, and document results. Qualifications
Bachelors in Engineering or Water Sciences (e.g., ocean engineering, oceanography). Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience with numerical models. Working knowledge of programming environments such as FORTRAN, C++, and Python. Expertise in hydrodynamic, wave, and sediment transport models (e.g., ROMS, Delft3D, SWAN, XBeach, ADCIRC). Experience with hydraulic models, including flood modeling tools (e.g., Flo2D, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical reports and presentations. Self-motivated and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Compensation and benefits
For the Consultant, Ocean Modeler position, anticipated base pay is USD 74,000 – 83,641. The exact amount will be based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. Pay may fall outside the stated range in certain cases. This role may be eligible for bonus pay.
