Job Description: Senior Process Controls Engineer and PLC Programmer Sepragen Corporation is seeking an experienced, smart, dedicated and innovative Process Controls Design Engineer to perform PLC programming for its cutting-edge equipment used for making biotech drugs and vaccines. The candidate will have had a track record of success in developing and implementing similar control and automation systems for fluid handling electro-mechanical equipment or production plants in a fast-changing and growing environment. Must have a strong work ethic, be deadline conscious, have good analytical and problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, with a positive attitude, well organized and most importantly take ownership and meet customer commitments. Must be able to work well with other team members as member of the Software Controls and Automation Team. This is an on-site position (Union City, CA 94587). Responsibilities

Implement design in PLC and develop and perform all necessary programming, testing and troubleshooting to meet functional requirements. This includes configuration, assigning I/O per database, programming interlocks, programming set points and alarms, PID loops and sequences in Ladder Logic, Function Block and Sequential Function Charts. Understand process, fluid mechanics, pneumatic and electrical requirements of an automation project. Develop functional control specifications for PLC to integrate to communicate with HMI and develop innovative control solutions. Develop sequence of operations (SOO) documents, Configuration, Communications Interface and Database communication for new projects. Develop test plan and test code. Perform FAT, IQ/OQ, Installation and write Operations Manual, Troubleshooting Guide for process equipment. Create documentation such as I/O list, loop diagrams, BOM, Schematics and Drawings in AutoCad. Specify instrumentation and develop instrument lists and location plans and when necessary, layout of PLC in new control panels, cable and termination schedules, 4-20 ma, 0-10V and 24VDC power systems and layouts. Select and size I/O modules, relays and Configure VFDs. Participate in design reviews internally with peers and present progress to customers. When necessary, review, repair and redesign legacy code and troubleshoot issues with existing company installed systems. Requirements

BS/MS in an Engineering field with 7+ years’ experience: Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering/ Chemical/ Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Science with experience as a hands-on Controls Engineer or Applications Engineer working on automation, electromechanical, biomedical and/ or fluid handling systems using Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider). Strong Experience with programming in all 3 - Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Charts and Function Block· Programming I/O logic for analog and digital signals, interlocks, alarms, events, calibration· Familiarity with working with different Databases ·Proficiency programming and tuning PID loops ·Configuration of controls networks ·Serial communication (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485,Canbus, Modbus, ProfiBus, Profinet, Ethernet IP) between PLCs and instruments and microcontrollers ·Ethernet communications between machine PLCs and database systems· Communicate with DCS or SCADA ·OPC UA Proficiency ·Selecting PLC hardware, I/O, VFD and instrumentation ·Proficiency programming and tuning variable frequency drives· Exposure to a wide variety of production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment (Level, pH, conductivity, Optical, temperature and pressure transducers, UV.) · Thin Client and Communication in a Network. ·Proficiency creating detailed process (P&ID), electrical, pneumatic and fluid schematics in CAD (AutoCAD) · MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines individually and as part of a team· Must be skilled at managing timelines and tracking progress with tools like Excel, Project, Trello, Jira.
