The Azure Cloud Solution Architect will serve as a key technical advisor supporting new internal initiatives that require cloud-based deployment within Microsoft Azure. This individual will partner closely with Engineering and Enterprise Architecture teams to evaluate proposed solutions, ensure design feasibility, and guide implementation aligned with enterprise governance and compliance frameworks.
This role acts as an extension of senior leadership to provide architectural oversight, facilitate intake reviews, and serve as a bridge between infrastructure and application development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate new technology and solution proposals for deployment within Azure environments. Conduct design and architecture reviews across compute, networking, database, and security components. Collaborate with SMEs from each domain to validate solution designs and troubleshoot potential gaps. Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Governance to facilitate the intake and approval process for new internal projects. Provide practical guidance and decision-making support around architecture feasibility, implementation timelines, and tradeoffs. Collaborate closely with implementation leads to ensure solutions are deployed following Azure best practices and enterprise standards. Support new investments (e.g., AI, analytics, application modernization) by designing secure, scalable end-to-end cloud solutions. Translate complex designs into simplified presentations for executive and stakeholder review. Investigate unfamiliar solutions within lab environments to provide informed architectural recommendations. Provide advisory support on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), DevOps pipelines, APIs, and data security best practices. Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience architecting and designing solutions within Azure cloud environments. Compute, Networking, and Databases within Azure. Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform). Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. Kubernetes and container services (AKS). Security, encryption, and compliance in regulated industries (HIPAA, PCI, HITRUST familiarity preferred). Cloud governance, cost optimization, and monitoring. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure and application development teams. Ability to “roll up sleeves” when needed to troubleshoot, test, or validate solutions. Preferred Certifications
