The Ford Agency seeks an experienced and creative Interim Exhibit Manager to oversee exhibitions, collections, and public programming for a DC-based museum and its global campus. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for cultural interpretation and education. This is a temporary role with an immediate start.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily site needs including front of house and visitor needs
Manage extensive preproduction and exhibit installation calendars
Oversee and coordinate volunteer and docent scheduling and staff planning
Handle space programming and rentals
Assist with researching potential exhibit content
Coordinate with programming team on visitor experience strategy
Coordinate with outside groups for partner engagement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Art History, History, or related field
3+ years of museum management, exhibitions, or programming experience
Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience collaborating with vendors, curators, and institutional partners
Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of collections or CMS software a plus
Candidates for this position must be based in the DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
