SAIC is seeking
Database Administrators
to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and modernize MARS. This position will be located in the National Capital Region.
Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/ Spring 2026.
Responsibilities
Oversees the strategy, deployment, and management of complex, high-security database systems within MARS
Conducts advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization. Leads disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data availability
Develops and enforces strict database policies and best practices
Provides expert mentorship to junior database administrators
Coordinates with IT teams to integrate database solutions within broader MARS systems
Keeps current with emerging database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvements
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
One of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, Cloud+, SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, or GSEC
Bachelors degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering and 14 years or more relevant experience (will consider an additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
Advanced database management, performance tuning, data integrity, backup and recovery operations, high-level maintenance and upgrades, and compliance auditing
Proficiency with various DBMS, familiarity with operating systems, and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
