Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

We are seeking an experienced

Senior Network Security Engineer

to design, secure, and optimize complex enterprise network infrastructures across hybrid environments. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in

firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, proxies, and remote access

with a strong understanding of

zero-trust architecture and network segmentation .

This role involves close collaboration with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and audit teams to maintain a robust, compliant, and high-performing network environment supporting critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Network Security Architecture:

Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure including

Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco Firewalls ,

F5 Load Balancers ,

VPN ,

DMZ , and

Proxy

systems.

Infrastructure Oversight:

Manage DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN/VPN, and authentication mechanisms to ensure availability and performance.

Security & Compliance:

Conduct vulnerability assessments, manage patching cycles, and collaborate with audit and IT security teams on remediation and documentation.

Monitoring & Optimization:

Utilize tools such as

Splunk, Qualys, and Centreon

for performance monitoring, alerting, and incident response.

Leadership & Mentorship:

Guide junior engineers, promote best practices, and foster knowledge sharing across teams.

Project Delivery:

Lead network transformation and cybersecurity initiatives aligned with enterprise goals.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain network inventories, diagrams, and procedures. Deliver periodic security reports and dashboards to management.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years in

network security engineering

or infrastructure management within complex enterprise environments (finance or critical industries preferred).

Networking:

L2/L3, BGP, VXLAN, LAN/WAN/VPN, DNS/DHCP, WSG (Web Security Gateway), Proxy-pac scripting

Security Tools:

Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5, Cisco Firepower

Protocols:

OSI Layer 4 & 7 analysis and troubleshooting

Proficiency in

automation or scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Ansible) .

Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Ability to operate autonomously, manage priorities, and drive complex projects to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or Cybersecurity.

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PCNSE, NSE 4/5, CCNP Security or Enterprise.

Experience with Arista Networks, Ansible, or micro-segmentation (Illumio / VMware NSX) is a strong plus.
