Director of Nursing
to serve as an expert resource for the agency, providing leadership and guidance to the clinical supervisors overseeing the multidisciplinary teams providing direct patient care throughout King County, WA. Overview
Eden Health is a Certified Great Place to Work company. The Director of Nursing will lead and support the clinical leadership team, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness. Responsibilities
Develop, plan, organize, and direct patient care services in accordance with federal and state regulations, accrediting bodies, and recognized standards of care. Implements policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and standards of care relevant to patient services and staff functions. Maintain staffing levels to provide patient care, ensuring schedules provide proper coverage for patient care needs. Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality. Direct and support Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities, including evaluation, planning, and implementation. Assist in preparing and meeting financial targets in collaboration with the Executive Director and budgeting processes. Assist in hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, and disciplining staff within policy; contribute to orientation and ongoing training programs. Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements for home care reimbursement; communicate updates to staff. Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure high quality of care, efficient operations, and financial stewardship. Coordinate with physician offices, payers, patients and families, outpatient and inpatient services, and community resources; promote home care services and coordinate care across the continuum. Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and communicate advances to staff. Support implementation or changes to Agency policies, regulations, processes, or procedures in partnership with the Executive Director. Consult with stakeholders as needed when developing solutions or addressing issues. Set strategic and operational goals for the branch and help develop data-driven action plans to respond to trends in metrics. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of hospice regulations and standards; knowledge of hospice agency functions. Compassion for patients and families dealing with end-of-life issues; understanding of dying and pain control. Effective communication in English (verbal and written); strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work under stress, be flexible, organized, and self-directed with minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance; basic computer skills. Ability to plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise health services in compliance with regulations and accrediting bodies. Competence in nursing theory, practice, and community health; understanding of HIS data collection and reporting. Commitment to patient-centered and value-based care; continuous improvement and high patient/staff satisfaction. Education and Experience
Licensed physician, physical therapist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, or registered nurse. Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Nursing from an accredited program. Three (3) years of nursing experience; experience in community health, home health, or hospice services preferred. At least one (1) year supervisory/administrative experience. Current license from the state Board of Registered Nursing. Current CPR certification. Career Benefits
