The Residential Light Commercial HVAC line of business at Copeland is looking for a
Senior Product Manager
to drive growth and expansion in the residential market segment. This is a part of the overall $5B Copeland business, with a large served market, multiple manufacturing locations across the Americas, and projected growth.
The
Senior Product Manager
for the residential segment will be responsible for product strategy, profitability, and other product line responsibilities, working with cross‑functional teams across the Residential Light Commercial organization as well as customers and the broader market. You must be a proven, highly effective leader with demonstrated business, technical, team efficacy and initiative. You will execute strategy and product management while building customer relationships to deliver commercial success. This is a highly visible role through all levels of Copeland leadership and reports to the Sr. Director of Residential Marketing and Product Management.
Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to build growth and profitability, and develop sound and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately, and collaborate with the broader team to define winning solutions
Excel at connecting industry, market, competitive and business data to learn quickly and identify opportunities to win
Operate with curiosity, an entrepreneurial mindset and initiative in tough situations
Strategy
Key role in developing product and technology direction for the residential business
Drive alignment with our product‑focused organization on commercial strategy
Build business case and rationale for prioritizing technology development roadmaps
Support regulatory and customer communications to align with future trends and multi‑generation product strategy
Use competitive, industry, and regulatory trends to determine market entry and roadmap that feeds product/solution roadmaps
Analyze systems, total cost of ownership and other value assessments to inform value propositions
Execution
Contribute to technology/product conceptualization, development, and execution on product and solution programs, enforcing best practices and accountability for milestones
Support market research priorities and tasks to inform data‑driven technology/product directions
Assist Residential leadership in preparing for executive and other business presentations
Understanding
Engage directly with customers and industry, from C‑suite to technician
Prioritize and support market, customer, solution, and product research for future technology/product development
Capture current product directions and medium to long‑term needs
Act as an internal expert on products and customer requirements
Enable the customer buying journey through application and industry intelligence
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
MBA or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent business experience
Minimum 3–5 years (7 years preferred) of experience in product management, marketing, product development, technical sales, or engineering
Strong analytical and data‑mining abilities to support strategies and decisions
Ability to turn ideas into action, customer‑centric mindset, willingness to take calculated risks, and drive results through communication and teamwork
High proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong organizational skills
Experience with business‑to‑business products
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to travel: 10–20%
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
HVACR industry experience and knowledge of HVACR systems
Technical education or experience
Onsite Work Arrangement This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
Location and About Our Facility Our facility is located in Sidney, OH, within driving distance to Dayton, Troy, and Columbus. The area offers a family‑friendly environment with a variety of amenities and communities. Our Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing space and 120k square feet of lab facilities. It is the headquarters of our HVACR Americas business unit, with approximately 1600 employees.
