Lead Data Engineer – Financial Data, Compliance & Business Intelligence

We are looking for an experienced ETL Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ETL processes and technologies, experience with a variety of data sources, and the ability to design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into our data warehouse. As a member of the Data Analytics team, you will contribute to firm-wide initiatives and help uphold a collaborative culture across Crowe. Responsibilities Identify and map source data in various commercial and custom systems Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL pipelines Extract, transform, and load data from multiple data sources Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to define data requirements Troubleshoot and debug ETL pipelines Stay up to date on ETL technologies and best practices Formulate development estimates (task, effort, dependencies, etc.) Develop test cases and demonstrate results for assigned deliverables Maintain and present daily/weekly status updates Articulate project deliverable details to clients and project team members Adapt to various industries and document/business requirements for development plans Maintain a professional presence and interact with clients as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field 3+ years of experience in ETL development Experience with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Financial Audits, or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and compliance requirements Previous consulting experience or experience working with external clients Strong understanding of ETL processes and technologies Experience with diverse data sources (relational databases, flat files, web APIs) Experience with Python, Java, or other programming languages Experience with data warehouse technologies (Azure, AWS, Snowflake) Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deliverables Understanding of Agile and traditional project management principles Technical background with enterprise solutions across industries High-level knowledge of BI architecture or data warehousing Strong written and verbal communication skills Certifications (Preferred) Certifications in BI (ETL tools, visualization tools, cloud architectures) CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or similar certifications Key Stakeholders This Role Interacts With Internal: Senior BI Analyst, Data Product Manager, BI Architect / Senior Architect, Data Engineers, Report Developer (Power BI, Tableau) External: C-Suite executives, Data Owners, Enterprise Information Management and Data Governance teams, IT staff (Architects, DBAs, Developers) We uphold Crowe’s values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship. Compensation The wage range reflects factors including skills, experience, certifications, and business needs. A current range is $104,500.00 – $208,300.00 per year, with actual offers determined by the facts and circumstances of each case.
