Summary
The Community Relations Management team plays a vital role in strengthening Travis Credit Union’s (TCU) connection with its members and the broader community. The focus is on building trust, enhancing the credit union’s reputation and supporting its mission of people helping people through financial wellness programs, products and services. This role leads outreach initiatives, builds partnerships, represents the brand at events, advocates for members, and coordinates employee volunteerism to strengthen community ties and promote financial wellness. Profile
Responsible for driving the success of the Community Relations programs through ownership of marketing event management. Leads, trains, evaluates, coaches, professionally develops and motivates staff to attain department goals. Sets and monitors performance goals. Promotes a work environment that encourages involvement, initiative and teamwork. Builds career development paths for assigned staff. Develops, implements and maintains the credit union’s community relationship programs to support membership growth and align with the organizational goals and objectives. Ensures staff deliver programs that align with the organization’s strategic initiatives (including brand and culture). Key partner in developing a growth focused business plan to support the credit union’s long-term strategy. Models program success and leadership education through grass root data and trend analyses. Responsible for maturing data analytics for growth and program evolution. Accountable for ensuring process development and documentation, including adoption of best practices in a continuously evolutionary manner. Manages and develops business relationships in the TCU service areas to promote our community relationship programs and TCU’s brand. Attends local business meetings as a representative of TCU’s outreach programs. Not all functions/tasks are listed above; however, those listed are considered essential. Qualifications
Experience managing and nurturing relationships with non-profit partners. Proven experience in event planning, event marketing and event management. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in event/project management software and digital tools. Sound understanding of financial products and services. Solid interpersonal skills and self-confidence with the ability to listen effectively and communicate influentially. Ability to interact with diverse groups of people including business community members, potential members, partners and government/county officials in a professional and diplomatic manner. Effective professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide leadership, support, motivation and professional development to assigned staff. Reporting and Experience
Reports directly to VP, Marketing. Direct supervisory responsibilities for assigned supervisor. Overall supervisory responsibilities for assigned department staff. BA/BS in Education, Sociology, Public Administration, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in community relations. Minimum of 5 years in supervisory or leadership role. Working Conditions
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available and usually sedentary in nature. May require attending meetings and events during evenings and/or weekends. Travel and overnight stays may be required. Compensation
Base salary starting range: $113,258.08 annually - $139,900.80 annually is commensurate with experience. Our compensation philosophy is based on several factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
