Business Office Director , reporting to the CFO. You will manage all aspects of billing and patient accounts, provide direction to business office staff (Financial Counseling, Billing, Collections and Data Entry), and work closely with the CFO to achieve facility AR days and collections goals. Responsibilities
Monitor and report on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled, denials, and related items in conjunction with the CFO. Establish and maintain controls for all cash collected and posted in the Patient Accounting system. Maintain effective communication with third-party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impede cash flow and affect patient/member satisfaction. Maintain effective communication with the leadership team to ensure third-party compliance guidelines are met. Select and monitor outside collection vendors engaged in the collection of hospital receivables; review and balance agency reports to hospital system reports and approve agency invoices. Lead and provide operational directives for all Business Office activities related to claims management and collections of the hospital’s receivables; ensure timely, efficient cash collections to support facility financial goals. Provide necessary support and leadership to achieve departmental goals and objectives. Review statistical reports to monitor trends, determine operational deficiencies, and implement corrective action plans as necessary. Qualifications
Education Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience At least 3 years’ experience as a hospital business office director or supervisor. Extensive knowledge of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid. Behavioral health & HMS experience preferred. Inpatient experience required. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work with all levels of staff and management. Other
