This is a telework opportunity for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule. Our physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis. Responsibilities
Address the medical necessity of treatment requests and, in appeals, the medical necessity of previously denied services. Specialization requested: Orthopedic Surgery - Spine Surgery. Complete reviews with an average time of 15-20 minutes per case; possible to complete several cases within an hour. Participate in training and onboarding; start earning compensation for reviews while maintaining an active practice. Requirements
Current, unrestricted New York Medical License Workers Comp Board Certified Active Practice Board Certified Benefits
Independent consultant role allows for schedule flexibility and predictable work hours. Choose services and case types, dictate volume, and perform work based on scheduled availability. No doctor/patient relationship is established and no treatment is provided; these are advisory-only opinions. Typical turnaround time (TAT) is 1-5 business days depending on the level of review; same-day cases are rare but possible. Dane Street coordinates administrative tasks to allow focus on clinical decision-making. Streamlined case flow and a user-friendly work portal; assistance with communication, organization of medical records, and preparation of cases to ensure timely determinations/reports. Easy access to chronological medical records and all treatment guidelines used to make a determination in a click-to-view format. Peer-to-peer coordination by Dane Street’s peer coordinators when necessary (e.g., adverse determinations). Initial training provided plus ongoing support for questions about completing reviews.
