Senior Energy Data Scientist (onsite) - Temp Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions. Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.
Required
Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL (required);
Experience in machine learning or advanced analytics (5+ years);
Experience with energy market applications (2 years);
Experience with Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow) and SQL;
Experience deploying production-grade ML and analytics systems in AWS, Azure, or GCP;
Experience in statistics, linear algebra, and optimization;
Experience with LLMs (GPT, Llama, Mistral) and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation);
Experience with agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI);
Experience with Time series modeling (ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, XGBoost);
Experience with stochastic modeling, Monte Carlo simulations, and VaR analysis;
Experience in data architecture: ETL/ELT pipelines, dbt, Airflow, or Prefect;
Experience with data warehouses (DataBricks, Snowflake);
Experience with vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate);
Experience with Data governance: versioning, lineage, security, and compliance;
Experience with dashboards and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly);
Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
Preferred
Experience with power market dynamics (generation, transmission, demand forecasting, ISO/RTO markets such as PJM, ERCOT, MISO, CAISO);
Experience with trading instruments: DA/RT markets, FTRs, CRRs, PPAs, futures, and swaps;
Experience in natural gas, renewables, and carbon markets;
Experience modeling locational marginal prices (LMP), congestion, and portfolio risk;
Experience with regulatory and compliance data (FERC, EIA, ISO market data).
Responsibilities
Develop and integrate new or existing applications into the technical infrastructure and business processes;
Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts to analyze, design, develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, and enhance systems;
Design and deploy machine learning models for energy market forecasting and optimization;
Build and fine-tune generative AI models (LLMs, RAG pipelines) for automating report generation, trade rationale summaries, and market insights;
Create intelligent trading assistants or agent frameworks that monitor, forecast, and act based on real-time data;
Perform time series modeling (ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, XGBoost) for price, load, or renewable generation forecasting;
Implement stochastic modeling, Monte Carlo simulations, and VaR analysis for trading positions and hedge strategies.
