Job Title: Dosimetrist Treatment Planner Profession: Dosimetrist Specialty: Dosimetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Dosimetry license required Certifications: MDCB certification required within 1 year of employment Description: We are seeking a Dosimetrist Treatment Planner for a contract and/or temp-to-perm opportunity. This position will be 50% onsite and 50% remote. The role involves designing and developing treatment plans that will deliver a prescribed radiation dose. You will design treatment plans using computer and manual computations in accordance with the Clienttion Oncologist's prescription. Treatment plans will include 2-D, 3-D, IMRT, and Rapid Arc planning techniques. You will need to consider dose-limiting structures in the design of treatment plans and document doses accurately. Responsibilities include coordinating treatment simulations and tumor localization on dedicated devices, including CT, MRI, and PET, for radiation oncology treatment planning. You will perform multi-modality image fusion and assist in the planning of the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam-modifying devices. Supervision of patient positioning during simulation and the production of immobilization devices will be part of your duties. You will supervise the therapist staff in implementing the treatment plan, ensuring the correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, and field arrangements. Accurate calculations for the delivery of the prescribed dose are essential, and you will document all pertinent information in patient records. You will be responsible for verifying the mathematical accuracy of all calculations using a system established by the Medical Physicist. All details of the treatment plan must be accurately transcribed into the patient chart, following departmental policy for technical documentation. You may be required to teach applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students and residents as assigned. Participation in clinical research for the development and implementation of new techniques is encouraged. You will engage in continuing education regarding current treatment planning techniques and advances in medical dosimetry.
