This is a highly responsible position within the Department of Utilities. Work involves installation and maintenance of all electrical systems within the Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Position entails being on call after hours, weekends and holidays to resolve issues as necessary.
Essential Job Functions: Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machinery and equipment, e.g. motors, instruments, computers, lighting, generators and programmable logic controllers. Connects power supply to machinery and equipment and connects cables and wiring between machinery and equipment. Diagnoses malfunctions in transformers, motors, control valves, instrumentation, light fixtures, and replaces damaged or broken components. Troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and equipment and discusses problems with staff. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical components of equipment such as relays, switches, and motors.
Qualifications
Requires an Associate's Degree or equivalent in electronics field from a two-year college or technical school and two years related experience and specialized training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of Personal Computer, SCADA software and PLC (programmable logic controllers). Must possess a Master Electrician license. Possession of a valid Class C operator's license from the state in which you reside and acceptable driving record.
