Monday - Friday, 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM (5x8-Hour Shifts)
Pay Rate: Up to $20 per hour Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
to join a clinical team in
Paramus, NJ . The CMA will assist in providing clinical and administrative support under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or registered nurse. This role involves both direct patient care and clerical responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare exam and treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available. Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures. Record and maintain patient vital signs and health information in medical charts. Perform diagnostic and lab procedures as qualified, including: EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus testing UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other laboratory tests
(after competency evaluation)
Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of medical equipment. Maintain accurate patient and office records, including filing and documentation. Assist with billing, collections, and administrative tasks as needed. Utilize computer software to manage patient data and office systems efficiently. Adhere to confidentiality standards and HIPAA compliance at all times. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, demonstrating sensitivity to age, culture, and communication needs. Support the facility's mission by adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Perform other duties or projects as assigned. Skills & Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in medical software systems and data entry. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Commitment to providing patient-centered care and maintaining confidentiality. Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Preferred:
Graduate of an accredited
Medical Assistant Program . Certifications & Licensure
Required: AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
Certification. Must hold one of the following active certifications:
CMA - NHA
(National Healthcareer Association) CMA - NCCT
(National Center for Competency Testing) CMA - AAMA
(American Association of Medical Assistants) RMA - AMT
(American Medical Technologists) RMA - NAHP
(National Association for Health Professionals) AMCA
(American Medical Certification Association) NCMA
(National Certification Medical Association)
