You will turn security tool outputs into real risk reduction through smart prioritization, rapid remediation, and governance. This position is a people manager role reporting to the Director, Platform Security. What you'll do

Lead a proactive technical team to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities and risks across cloud and on‑premises environments. Turn security tool outputs into real risk reduction through smart prioritization, rapid remediation, and governance. Partner with teams like SRE and other security teams to embed controls into delivery pipelines. Success is measured by reducing high‑risk backlog, faster remediation, fewer unknown assets, and minimized drift. This position is a people manager role reporting to the Director, Platform Security. Responsibilities

Own the end‑to‑end pipeline for vulnerability findings, misconfigurations, and surface coverage, ensuring proactive risk identification and reduction Lead the management and reduction of internal and external attack surface for comprehensive visibility and rapid response Set control strategy, multi‑year roadmap, risk appetite, and OKRs aligned with business objectives Streamline and standardize scan and discovery methods across all environments, optimizing tooling for efficiency and coverage Normalize and correlate security signals; ensure accurate ownership, automated ticketing, and verified remediation Lead fix campaigns and surge responses for major vulnerabilities, with clear communication and escalation Govern exceptions and compensating controls with time‑boxed approvals and regular review Integrate vulnerability and configuration management with CI/CD, IaC, CSPM/KSPM, ASM, SIEM/SOAR, and reporting platforms Direct incident response and escalated events for critical vulnerabilities, ensuring swift investigation and remediation Publish executive dashboards and QBRs; present risk posture and recommendations to executive leadership Build, coach, and mentor a high‑performing, domain‑specialist team; manage on‑call health, runbooks, and cross‑training Own portfolio and budget, including prioritization, build vs. buy, and vendor management Establish and enforce standards, policy‑as‑code, and exception policies with expiries Ensure audit/regulatory readiness and deliver board‑level reporting with trusted metrics Set and monitor SLOs for coverage, prioritization, MTTR, exception expiry, and drift limits What you bring

Basic 8+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years building and leading vulnerability, configuration, hardening, and attack surface management capabilities and teams 6+ years of people management experience, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, growing, and retaining high‑performing technical talent Proven hands‑on technical expertise, including the ability to code, review code, and review technical designs for security solutions and automation Experience in building, scaling, and maturing security capabilities through innovation and automation Experience operating SLO‑backed security controls and platforms in production environments Integration experience enabling seamless security at scale across multi‑cloud, Kubernetes, and legacy/on‑prem environments Experience with incident leadership, including triage, containment, remediation, and root cause analysis with evidence Experience defining metrics and OKRs, builds dashboards, and defends decisions with data Experience designing and enforcing standards and governance (e.g., policy‑as‑code, exception expiries) Proven ability to oversee risk‑to‑remediation pipelines, including KEV/EPSS prioritization, auto‑routing, and verification of fixes Track record of delivering complete coverage (scan/discovery/benchmark), reducing unknown assets, and achieving MTTR/SLA targets Ability to attract, grow, and retain high‑performing, domain‑specialist teams to drive innovation and excellence Preferred Clear written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to executive and engineering audiences Strong cross‑functional influence with Product, Engineering, IT, and Compliance teams Demonstrated experience building new security programs or platforms from the ground up (0→1 builder) Hands‑on coding for automation and policy‑as‑code (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript), with depth in IaC and PaC tools such as Terraform, CDK, OPA, or Conftest Proven track record of driving measurable improvements in security coverage, response latency, and MTTR through innovation and automation Strong knowledge of hybrid and multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, and legacy data centers), with experience using tools like Tenable, Microsoft Defender, and Wiz Experience designing and operating unified pipelines for vulnerability, configuration, and attack surface management, including deduplication, correlation, and verified‑fix automation Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO, FedRAMP) and automating audit evidence collection Ability to lead large‑scale security replatforming, vendor optimization, and cost management initiatives Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefings, ADRs, and cross‑functional collaboration with cloud security and other technical teams Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: California: $177,900.00 - $287,425.00 base salary Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $170,900.00 - $241,400.00 base salary Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $170,900.00 - $251,325.00 base salary Benefits
