Overview
The AVP Technology PMO leads the Technical Program Management Office (PMO) for three major, multi-year consumer technology transformation programs focused on modernizing AT&T’s full technology stack—from backend systems to customer-facing platforms. Drive roadmap integration, resource optimization, risk mitigation, and agile delivery to accelerate transformation and improve customer experiences. Role Details
This role is based in Dallas TX or Atlanta, GA requiring in-office presence 5 days a week. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities
Lead PMO for three consumer transformation programs: BSSe (billing and backend modernization), Digital (AT&T app, website, omni-channel, MarTech), and AT&T Customer Connect (front-end modernization, Salesforce platform). Coordinate and align program roadmaps and priorities across diverse stakeholders and leadership. Manage upward communication and collaborate with leaders to resolve competing priorities. Anticipate dependencies, risks, and remove roadblocks to accelerate delivery. Optimize investment portfolio and resource allocation for efficient program execution. Monitor program health and provide transparent status reporting to executives. Foster Agile methodologies and ensure disciplined execution across programs. Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 6-7 direct reports within a ~60-person organization. Collaborate with engineering leadership to support innovation and program goals. Required Qualifications
Proven experience overseeing large-scale technology transformations, ideally in consumer-facing businesses. Strong technical background with a focus on software engineering. Strong expertise in Agile software development and product-led delivery. Experience managing multiple roadmaps and complex dependencies. Demonstrated ability to lead large teams through change and transformation. Comfortable managing multi-million dollar budgets and financial planning. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in IT or related field. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with emerging technologies, IT governance, and information security management. Knowledge of IT systems integration and infrastructure supporting multi-line businesses. Proven success in matrixed, geographically distributed organizations. Strong business acumen in budgeting, capital planning, and business case development. Our AVP Technology earns between $206,900 - $347,500. Starting salary may vary based on geography, experience, and education/training.
