Acting Dean, Institutional Effectiveness

for Los Angeles City College (LACC) within the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). Full-Time, Acting, salary range $175,836 to $206,448. Deadline to Apply: 4:30 PM, October 16, 2025. Los Angeles City College announces an opening for Dean, Institutional Effectiveness. The Dean will be responsible for providing collaborative leadership and expertise in the planning, implementation, and assessment of the LACC Educational and Strategic Master Plan, Accreditation Self-Evaluation and Reports, Learning Outcomes, and other student success strategies; and implements the college research agenda connected with the evaluation and efficiency of the institution to assess its effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications

A Masters degree from an accredited college or university. At least one year of full-time formal training, internship or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment. Sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Duties and Responsibilities

Provides leadership in the review, revision and evaluation of the Strategic Educational Master Plan, Learning Outcomes Assessment, Program Review, Curriculum and Catalog. Provides leadership in the management of the college-wide planning efforts while establishing a college culture of institutional effectiveness. Works with faculty accreditation co-chair and accreditation liaison officer (may serve in this role) to facilitate the institutions accreditation self-evaluation and reports. Provides leadership to Learning Outcomes Faculty Leads on the college review and assessment of outcomes for all instructional and non-instructional programs. Provide leadership and oversight of the colleges program review process. Works with the faculty curriculum chair to provide leadership and direction for all-curriculum-related matters, including submission of required reports to the California Community College system office. Directs and ensures the timely and accurate preparation of the college catalog. Works closely with instructional deans and other college area leads to ensure accuracy of published information. Prepares and maintains all college course and program related data. Ensures that college curriculum data in the college catalog, class schedule, and other publications is accurate and consistent. Works collaboratively to coordinate the Accreditation Reports, Student Equity Plan, and Student Support and Success Program reports. Provides data for evidence-based decision making, analyzes gaps in student achievement, and identifies effective models to increase student equity and success. Provides collaborative leadership in institutional accountability measures and key performance indicators for student access and success. Provides data and performance measurement support to individuals that review programs, accreditation, and compliance. Researches and analyzes trends in education for use as a resource by the president, vice presidents, deans, and faculty for curriculum development, student achievement measures, and support to strategic decisions. Provides support for the conducting of feasibility studies for new curricula, programs, facilities, and other services that enhance student success. Supervises, assesses, and integrates research to support strategic educational planning. Develops and directs institutional research analysis and resulting reports; submits to national and state organizations and agencies, as required. Presides over data analysis and trend monitoring; assists college personnel in the developing of reliable and valid research tools. Performs research studies used to support instructional development and course program evaluations. Oversees the operations of the college integrated planning process, including program review and resource allocation process. Establishes the appropriate quantitative and qualitative research design and statistical tools to be used in program review and college-level planning. Provides guidance to administration, faculty, and staff to develop and construct reliable and valid educational research methods. Performs other related duties as assigned. Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrates ability to work collegially with faculty and staff in meeting their research needs. Demonstrates experience working within and understanding the roles of all constituencies in participatory governance. Demonstrates leadership experiences in planning and organizing, developing, and maintaining complex reports with planning, review and research elements. Demonstrates ability to support all college constituencies in effective program planning, accreditation, and research. Demonstrates experience with advanced research techniques and statistical analysis and data processing. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate and support groups; ability to exercise leadership in areas of primary responsibility; and the ability to present findings effectively to a variety of audiences and readers. Demonstrates personal characteristics necessary for working with students, employees, and the public in an administrative capacity, including stability, good judgment, high ethical standards, tact, and ability to cooperate with all members of the college community. Demonstrated sensitivity to awareness of changing student populations, ethnicities, ages, languages, academic preparedness, disabilities, and cultural diversity within the college and its community; experience working with student support services. Salary and Benefits

The basic salary range is from $175,836 to $206,448 annually. The selected candidate will be allocated within the salary range according to previous salary. In addition, there is a $524 monthly differential for a doctoral degree. Employee benefits include paid vacation annually depending on length of District service, medical/hospital, dental and vision care plans and a $50,000 group life insurance policy.
