Summary The Senior Director of Multifamily Asset Management is responsible for monitoring and optimizing the performance of the Company’s multifamily portfolio nationwide. This individual will collaborate directly with the Multifamily Team Lead and operating partners on strategic decision making and business plan oversight for the various assets and will oversee the current multifamily asset management team to ensure seamless integration, outstanding execution, and successful disposition of all multifamily assets nationwide. This individual will also assist with acquisitions, financing, will oversee any required portfolio reporting, and will work with senior management on the multifamily investment strategies. This role requires 5 days in office out of our Los Angeles location. The ideal candidate for the role will possess a blend of strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This entrepreneurial group values critical thinking, an ability to build relationships, and transparent communication. The position is ideally suited for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a dynamic asset management background, a strong work ethic and a passion for real estate. Responsibilities Work closely with Multifamily Team Lead, internal asset managers, operating partners, third party property managers, brokers, consultants, and legal counsel to provide direction for and oversight of business plans, budgets, reforecasts, analyses and approvals. Oversee and participate in quarterly and annual reporting/valuations for internal and external purposes. Negotiate third party operating contracts, joint venture agreements, and oversee the implementation of capital improvement programs within the portfolio. Work collaboratively with the Acquisitions team to evaluate potential investment opportunities, assist with due diligence, participate in financing processes, and oversee the onboarding and transition of new assets. Qualifications BA/BS degree with strong record of academic achievement; graduate degree a plus. 10+ years of multifamily asset management experience preferred. Experience with both market rate and affordable property types preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple projects in team settings. Willingness to adopt new technologies leveraged across the company’s portfolio. Highly driven, with a positive, solution-oriented attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Experience overseeing an existing team of asset managers. The person in this position must be able to: Remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time working on a computer and attending virtual meetings. Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office technology, attend meetings etc. Ability to travel to properties nationally.
