The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant located in California’s Silicon Valley. It supports in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics, inventory management, hubbing, and repair services. Job Purpose
Sanmina is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Inspector for our day shift in Fremont, CA. In this role, you will determine product acceptance both in-process and at final assembly by inspecting parts per customer drawings and workmanship standards. You will use monitoring and measurement devices and perform visual inspection. You will document and submit results of inspection and testing activities in paper and electronic systems. You may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control. Responsibilities
Perform inspections to determine the quality of both metal components and electromechanical assemblies, visually and dimensionally, based on internal and customer workmanship standards and drawing specifications. Inspect machining, sheet metal fabrication, paint, and weld processes; may extend to clean room and final assembly inspection. Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased components and raw materials. Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control. Apply final labels or markings to demonstrate product acceptance. Document and communicate any non-conformances identified during inspection activities. Perform calibration audits and support internal calibration activities. Complete daily reports of inspection activities. Visual acuity and manual dexterity required. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs. Education And Experience Qualifications
High School Diploma or college courses. Minimum of 4-6 years of quality assurance experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment. Experience with weld inspection highly desired. Experience as a CMM operator is a plus. Knowledge of GD&T drawings consistent with the latest ASME revisions. Ability to design and build fixtures for welding parts. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to pass a weld test; welding certification is a plus (robot weld, arc weld, spot weld). Knowledge of mechanical inspection and ability to use inspection tools. Experience reading and interpreting BOMs, workmanship standards, and customer engineering specifications. Experience with basic inspection equipment (e.g., bore gauge, caliper, micrometer, pin gauges, etc.). Competent in word processing, spreadsheets, and data analysis. Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be flexible regarding overtime availability and able to work with minimal supervision. Work Environment
The employee may be exposed to dust, oil, coolant, and noise; usual noise level is moderate. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes in work processes. This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
