Overview

Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Machining — Long Beach, California At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. This is a unique moment to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture while Terran R is tangible and momentum is growing. Relativity Space is a place where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. You’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. About the Team

The Stage Manufacturing team turns design into reality, owning the build of Terran R’s primary structures. Engineers and technicians work side by side with real-time feedback to build better and faster. With a manifest and a launch date, the team delivers on Terran R by solving challenges in real time, optimizing for scale, and continuously improving processes. As the vehicle evolves, so will the factory, with opportunities to apply automation, machine learning, and advanced technologies. About the Role

Own operations on our 2 large 3-axis mills (20’x8’) and VTL (20’ diameter). Help introduce new products to these machines and improve current high-volume work across the 3-axis mills. Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers specializing in design, manufacturing, reliability, internal production teams, and external vendors to drive progress. Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices across multiple high-fidelity processes and help standardize processes across the manufacturing team. Help establish new machining work centers by championing tooling and process definition needed to build parts for Terran R. Support the shop floor through live issue resolution and provide upstream feedback as we innovate the next generation of manufacturing technology. Provide Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development and through the first prototype and flight builds. About You
