The Senior HRIS Analyst, Workday is responsible for the architecture, configuration, maintenance and optimization within the Workday tenant with a focus on Human Resources functionality. This position leads business consultation and configuration excellence across designated HR modules, including core HCM, Recruiting, Time, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Talent Management, and Payroll. This role is focused on Advanced Reporting / People Analytics, Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking (PATT), and will touch other areas as needed in a small team setting. This is a hands-on role spanning multiple HRIS technologies (primarily Workday) and involves supporting Shared Services tickets to system architecture and project leadership. The role requires strong technical aptitude along with collaboration and communication skills. Responsibilities include working with HR and business partners to design and implement system solutions and improvements across HRIS platforms while ensuring data integrity and effective user enablement.
Responsibilities
Lead business consultations and requirements gathering for system solution requests, including new or enhanced reports, optimizations, break fixes, and new feature adoptions. Document business and system requirements, solution options, test scripts and results. Develop and execute thorough testing plans to ensure quality deliverables. Identify solutions to enable business processes, primarily within the Workday tenant, with extension to peripheral HRIS technologies such as LMS, governmental reporting portals, and background check vendor platforms. Support HR and other subject matter experts with data integrity through user enablement, training, development of user guides, testing, change management and auditing. Provide generalized support for Shared Services tickets related to Workday and other HRIS technologies. System architecture and configuration to design, build, optimize and continuously improve the Workday tenant. Act as a key business partner and consultant with HR and business partners to identify and implement process improvements via HRIS technology. Lead requirement gathering, scope definition, timelines, and communication cadence; make design recommendations and develop testing and implementation plans. Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate impacts of configuration changes and ensure enterprise-wide quality deliverables; implement and document changes. Develop user guides and training for design changes where change management is involved; increase data integrity by analyzing metrics, building dashboards, conducting audits and providing root-cause resolutions. Support periphery systems and integrations (e.g., PowerBI dashboards; IT and Finance) and coordinate with IT Workday partners for integration requirements and maintenance. Partner with total rewards and IT Workday partners on integrations (benefits, etc.) and assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Human Resources Functional Partner Support
Provide day-to-day support for report administration and system enhancements within Workday; respond to changing business needs by gathering requirements and implementing configuration changes. Collaborate with partners on periphery systems dependent on Workday data; coordinate with IT and Finance on integration needs. Support HRIS technology needs and general HR needs through effective problem-solving and user support. Project Management
Act as project manager for small and large/complex technology projects, defining scope, impacts, configurations, testing, implementation and user communication/trainings. Manage projects to priorities and deadlines; keep stakeholders informed and guide others through design and testing processes. Contribute as a key consultant on large projects and implementations. Reporting and Analytics
Identify and establish reporting needs based on business initiatives; analyze data trends and share insights with stakeholders. Serve as liaison between business and IT to build effective analytics solutions. Maintain library of HCM-related reports in Workday with appropriate security access; build configurations that generate solid, business-relevant data; create simple and complex reports for internal and external needs; ensure design changes propagate to reports. Collaboration with Enterprise Partners
Stay informed on Workday notifications, upgrades and feature releases; ensure communication and follow-up for implementation needs. Contribute to feature release testing, impact assessment, and adoption planning documentation and configuration documentation. User Enablement and Support
Assess changes impacts and incorporate into deployment plans; create user procedures, training materials and demonstrations; maintain job aids and SharePoint postings; deliver dashboards and training sessions. Respond to and resolve user tickets, perform root cause analysis and implement configuration adjustments as needed; analyze support trends to identify system optimization opportunities and user training needs. Data Integrity and Readiness
Develop configurations that support business growth and future flexibility; build dashboards and audit mechanisms to detect and prevent data integrity issues; perform regular audits to preserve data integrity and system health.
Education and Work Experience
Required Degree:
Bachelor's degree in related field. Certificates: Workday Pro certificate in HCM strongly preferred, or can be obtained within the first 6 months. Additional Workday training or certifications in Advanced Reporting, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking (PATT) highly preferred. Experience: 5+ years Workday administration experience; 4+ years configuration in HCM, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking (PATT) and Advanced Reporting configuration required. Experience developing and writing advanced Workday reports (matrix and composite) required. Experience consulting as a business partner and gathering design requirements required. HR practitioner/HR knowledge or education preferred; healthcare/senior living experience preferred; project management experience highly preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge across multiple Workday modules including HCM, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Time, Absence, Talent Management, and Payroll. Critical thinking and ability to configure complex Workday solutions; strong documentation and communication skills. Ability to translate user requirements into technical specifications and convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Ability to work with limited supervision, plan and execute projects, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong problem solving and root cause analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams; advanced Excel skills preferred. Compensation:
Pay range $95,438.00 - $143,156.00 per year. The actual offered rate will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, location and equity considerations. Benefits:
