Senior Property Accountant – Atlanta, GA. Macdonald & Company have partnered with a fast-growing real estate investment and development firm headquartered in Atlanta to appoint a Senior Property Accountant. The company has built an impressive track record of acquiring and repositioning value-add multifamily and mixed-use assets across the Southeast, backed by both institutional and private capital partners. This is an opportunity to join a nimble, high-performing team where accounting is viewed as a strategic driver of growth - not just a back-office function. You’ll have visibility across the full portfolio, direct access to senior leadership, and a voice in shaping financial processes as the firm continues to scale. Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Take ownership of the monthly close process for multiple assets within a growing portfolio Prepare detailed financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports Manage cash flow, accruals, intercompany activity, and balance sheet reconciliations Partner with asset management and acquisitions teams to provide portfolio-level insights Coordinate with third-party property managers and lenders to ensure reporting accuracy Assist in annual budget preparation, reforecasts, and audit support Identify opportunities to enhance systems, reporting, and operational efficiency Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–5+ years of relevant real estate accounting experience (investment or asset management environment preferred) Strong Excel skills; experience with Yardi, MRI, or AppFolio preferred Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across accounting, asset management, and acquisitions teams What’s on Offer
