The Director of Student Accounts is a key member of the Business Office team, responsible for managing all aspects of student accounts, billing, collections, and payment processing with accuracy, professionalism, and integrity. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, organized, and customer-service minded. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and collaborates with students, families, and campus partners to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions. Key Responsibilities

Administer all billing, collections, and payment processes for student accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Reconcile student account activity and maintain compliance with institutional and federal regulations. Oversee disbursement of refunds, payment plans, and adjustments related to financial aid and student payments. Manage communications with students and families regarding account balances, payment options, and holds. Collaborate with Financial Aid, Registrar, and Accounting to ensure alignment of student data and records. Utilize Ellucian Colleague, Self-Service, and related financial systems to produce billing statements, reports, and reconciliations. Monitor outstanding balances and coordinate collection activities with external agencies as needed. Develop and maintain clear, documented procedures for billing and collections. Participate in audits, policy reviews, and system upgrades to support continuous improvement. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable. Demonstrated ability to work accurately under pressure and meet multiple deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized and structured, with strong follow-through and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel. Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with third-party payment processors, online billing systems, and payment plan management. Proficiency with Ellucian Colleague (or equivalent ERP systems). 3+ years of experience in a college or university business office, preferably as a Bursar, Assistant Bursar, or Student Accounts Manager. Experience with Colleague, billing, financial aid disbursements, FERPA, and collection practices. Core Competencies
