Overview
The Lead Server is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents and guests in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Sunrise Senior Living standards. The Lead Server is responsible for training new servers, maintaining proper dining room set up, assisting in special events, monitoring checklists in support of dining area cleanliness and readiness standards, and assisting in table top inventories maintenance. Responsible for handling all food and beverages in accordance with sanitary procedures and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food service. Base pay range

Provide support to the servers in day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive and safe environment for residents, guests and team members. Provide dining service training to new servers (10 Steps of Service). Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents and guests. Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items. Take meal and beverage orders and serve items according to established guidelines. Use tableside dining / meal suit. Respond to dining needs while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards. Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities. Follow all local, state/provincial and federal policies regarding food handling. Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health standards. General Dining Room Duties
Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness; adjust as needed to maintain quality standards. Maintain side work duties as assigned. Maintain assigned tables and surrounding area in a clean, presentable state. Set up and reset dining room tables per procedures. Support dining room decorum and etiquette standards. Open and close checklist criteria completed. Assist in table top inventories maintenance. Resident Services
Review Daily Log to document and learn pertinent information. Review Resident Diet Book and related materials as applicable. Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times. Food Safety and Sanitation
Practice safe food handling to prevent foodborne illness. Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments. Maintain work areas in a healthful and safe condition. Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization and supplies placement. Risk Management and General Safety
Ensure community compliance with occupational health and safety requirements; promote Risk Management programs and policies; adhere to safety rules. Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, MSDS and Lockout Tagout where applicable. Training and Team Contribution
Participate as a team member and work toward team goals. Demonstrate our Team Member Credo in daily interactions. Commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service. Contribute to engagement programs and processes, including surveys and improvement planning. Attend regular meetings and trainings as directed by supervision.
