Overview
As an SAP S/4HANA IT Architect focused on FICO, you will serve as a technical leader within the SAP landscape, overseeing finance-related domains such as Central Finance, Central Payments, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Margin Analysis, Product Costing, Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Global Taxation, Period-End Closing, Intercompany Transactions, Revenue Accounting & Reporting (RAR), Credit Management, and Treasury. You will also oversee integration with Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, and Manufacturing, and act as a strategic partner and liaison for global finance stakeholders. Responsibilities
Deliver expert-level SAP FICO solutions by designing, configuring, testing, and implementing end-to-end processes. Develop solution architectures for FICO modules and integrate with external systems such as CCH/Vertex, DPAO/Paymetric, EDI, Ariba, within complex global projects. Engage with business users to gather requirements, apply deep SAP functional knowledge (AR, AP, GL, Controlling, Credit Management, Tax, Product Costing, Margin Analysis, Intercompany, RAR, Financial Reporting), and lead solutioning activities including gap analysis, prototyping, and presenting design options. Evaluate current processes and identify improvements or automation opportunities within the finance process landscape. Partner with SAP leads and analysts to conduct design reviews and ensure delivery of high-quality solutions. Lead problem resolution efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Stay current with SAP innovations within the FICO space and recommend enhancements aligned with evolving business needs. Work with SAP teams across global time zones (U.S. and Asia) throughout the development, testing, and deployment lifecycle. Support data and analytics platform integration during design, testing, and implementation phases, and assist with data governance initiatives. Ensure solutions comply with established data security and governance frameworks. Contribute across all project phases—planning, blueprinting, development, testing, and post-go-live support. Comply with low-code/no-code design principles. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced coursework is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience focused on SAP Finance modules (AR, AP, GL, Credit Management, Controlling, Product Costing, Margin Analysis, Tax, RAR, Financial Reporting & Consolidations), including integration with MM, SD, and PP. At least 4 years of experience delivering complex, large-scale transformation programs within global enterprises in regions such as the U.S., Mexico, China, Germany, Hong Kong, and the UK. Strong background in architecting solutions across dual ERP landscapes (SAP ECC and S/4HANA), and familiarity with third-party platforms including tax engines (CCH/Vertex), DPAO/Paymetric, EDI, and BI/data platforms. Demonstrated analytical problem solving, and ability to adapt to business trends and process optimization. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective presentations. Ability to solve problems, perform root cause analysis, and rapidly learn new technologies. Adherence to operational procedures and ability to navigate policy frameworks to implement effective solutions. Occasional international travel (1–2 trips per year).
