Overview EY is seeking a Consulting - Business Transformation - Life Sciences R&D - Manager to lead and manage client engagements, build solutions, and drive innovation in the market. EY’s Life Sciences Consulting Services helps clients balance protecting the business with driving measurable value across the R&D value chain including discovery, pre-clinical, clinical, translational, and post-market surveillance / real-world evidence in life sciences and healthcare settings.
Your Opportunity EY has a robust, purpose-driven life sciences R&D practice aimed at accelerating patient impact by shaping strategic innovation priorities, improving operational efficiency, and embedding compliance. Your role focuses on strategic planning, business transformation, organizational structure and operating model optimization, clinical trial acceleration, complex data analytics, research compliance and regulatory affairs, and technology implementation support for large pharma, biotechnology, academic medical centers, health systems, cancer centers, and children’s hospitals.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage and support client engagement teams and work with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services in the life sciences domain.

Comprehensive understanding of R&D processes across preclinical research, clinical development, regulatory affairs and quality and safety functions
Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail to oversee complex projects, multiple tasks, workstreams, and deadlines

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, health, or related field
5-7 years of relevant experience in life sciences and/or health in an R&D setting (e.g., pharma, biotech, CRO, academic medical center, cancer centers) including prior consulting experience
Understanding of key R&D functions including preclinical research, clinical trial execution/development, regulatory affairs, and quality or safety
Experience managing complex projects or initiatives and overseeing teams of at least 3-5 individuals
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with structured consulting methods
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize complex issues into actionable insights
Proficiency with core business tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint)
Executive presence in client-facing settings and ability to engage with senior stakeholders
Willingness to travel based on project requirements
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) in life sciences, business, public health or related field
Experience supporting R&D transformations, operating model design, or process optimization
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, ICH, FDA) and compliance in R&D
Familiarity with RD platforms such as clinical trial management systems (CTMS)
