Overview
Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with focus on Ansible, Grafana, and on-prem/offshore hybrid environments in Chicago. The role supports a cloud-native, analytics-driven platform for algorithmic execution and real-time market data, with an initial onsite requirement followed by hybrid work as determined by location. Responsibilities
Own and manage bare metal infrastructure (100–200 servers). Improve automation and support deployment workflows to enhance infrastructure stability and scalability. Provide operational support to enable developers to deploy code with greater autonomy. Participate in weekly on-call rotations (including after-hours and weekends as needed). Collaborate with engineering teams to maintain uptime, speed, and precision in a trading tech environment. Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience Strong experience with bare metal infrastructure (100–200 servers) Proficiency with Ansible and infrastructure automation Deep understanding of monitoring systems (Grafana, Prometheus) Background in systems engineering (Linux or general IT acceptable) Experience working in SRE or ops-heavy environments Comfort with scripting/automation tools (Python, Go) Willingness to participate in weekly on-call rotations (including after-hours and weekends as needed) Must live within 30 miles of the office (3 days/week onsite) or be available on Tuesdays Desired Skills & Experience Exposure to HashiStack tools (Nomad, Vault) Familiarity with trading systems or FinTech infrastructure Experience supporting C# application environments Strong communication skills and ability to support developers and engineering leadership Ability to explain system behavior and monitoring insights to technical stakeholders Tech Breakdown
