Digital Marketing Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization Specialist

$30.15/hr - $45.25/hr We’re looking for a proactive, analytical, and results-driven SEO Specialist to join our growing marketing team. This mid-level role is perfect for someone with 2–5 years of hands-on SEO experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both strategic thinking and tactical execution. As an SEO Specialist, you’ll take ownership of organic search initiatives across multiple channels, working closely with our content creators, developers, and paid media team to drive traffic, improve rankings, and increase conversions. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, implementing best practices, and continuously optimizing our digital presence to support broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategize, execute, and manage Advocate Health's ongoing SEO efforts
In-depth keyword research - analyze keywords by topic and level of competition
Perform competitive analysis and content gap assessments
Implement on-page optimization
Manage local SEO and Google Business Listings
Develop content briefs and have ability to explain their importance
Provide SEO audits, recommendations, and tactics for continued campaign improvements
Understand the DOM and be able to explain its importance, from an SEO perspective to stakeholders
Recommend and explain actionable SEO strategies as it relates to content marketing and content hubs
Create and present reports and metrics to stakeholders
Stay current with search engine algorithm updates, industry trends, and emerging tools to ensure our strategies remain effective and compliant
Education/Experience Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; Master’s degree preferred. Field of Study: Marketing, advertising, digital, computer science.
2–5 years of progressive experience in advertising, media planning, digital marketing technology
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
2–5 years of SEO experience, ideally in an agency or in-house role
Proficiency in SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Moz)
Strong understanding of Google Search Console and Google Analytics (GA4 experience preferred)
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for SEO purposes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to improve search engine rankings and organic traffic
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify) a plus
License/Registration/Certification
Google AdWords Certification and Google Advanced Analytics Certification
