Fire Inspectors play a vital role in preventing, detecting, and mitigating the impact of fires. You will perform tasks such as minor repairs and visual and functional testing on fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems in accordance with all national and local standards. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will mentor and provide on-the-job training to entry level fire alarm and sprinkler inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our fire inspectors significantly contribute to public safety, property protection, and overall emergency preparedness. Responsibilities
Provide inspection, testing, and service for wet, dry, pre-action and deluge fire sprinkler systems; backflow preventers; water tanks; fire hydrants; foam-based systems; water mist systems; and fire pumps per NFPA 25 standards. Discuss noted deficiencies, remedies, and pricing with customers and follow up on corrective actions. Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to the compliance engine. Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections. Assist with training. Perform service and deficiency repairs on all fire sprinkler system types. Complete service ticket documentation and inspection reports before leaving customer site. Work overtime when needed, and maintain stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles. Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures. Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: 3+ years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) on Fire Sprinkler Systems. NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems Level II or state certification. On-the-job experience with: Reading and understanding design and construction documents Estimating impairment, deficiencies, and service repairs Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in various weather conditions; using hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred. 5+ years’ experience performing ITM of Fire Sprinkler systems.
