Field Applications Specialist - Portland, OR
Overview
The Roche Support Network provides exceptional support to customers. As a Field Applications Specialist you will be the liaison and expert for the field and customers on consultative, administrative and technical installation matters related to the implementation of assigned Roche systems. You will support the local field team with complex hardware instrument implementations, including pre-installation planning and post-implementation issue resolution.
Responsibilities
Serve as the Roche liaison and expert with the field and customers on consultative, administrative and technical installation matters pertaining to implementation of assigned Roche systems.
Lead technical support for field staff by supporting the local team with identification, analysis, and execution of complex hardware instrument implementations, including pre-installation planning and resolution of post-implementation hardware issues.
Provide analysis, feedback and recommendations on product failure trends and serviceability issues.
Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software and system failures using advanced knowledge and experience.
Determine the most cost‑effective repair/resolution to minimize delays to the installation timeline.
Maximize customer satisfaction with Roche hardware installations.
Promote effective, positive, and productive communications among team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
Manage assigned installations to build goodwill, confidence and credibility, aiming to exceed customer expectations for product, installation and support quality.
Oversee and assess the quality of installation teams’ work and provide feedback to regional lead engineers regarding customer site readiness, delivery, and install resource scheduling.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Cell Biology or Biochemistry, or a related field; or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and/or relevant experience.
3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or IT in a clinical lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to learn and remain current on Roche solutions across chemistry, immunology, molecular life sciences and IT solutions, and to keep up with industry trends.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with project management experience.
Strong customer consultative skills, including advanced scientific knowledge and the ability to foster strong customer relationships.
Role Details
Relocation benefits are available.
Field-based role with the territory in Portland, OR. Ideal candidate lives within the territory.
Travel: 70-80%; company car provided.
Shift: Monday–Friday.
Salary range (primary location Oregon): $63,800 to $118,400. Actual pay determined by experience, location, and factors permitted by law.
Eligible for incentive compensation and standard benefits as defined by the applicable plan.
