Overview
Material Application Specialist – Greater Portland Area. More than just a distributor, we curate premium design surfaces and provide solutions for interior and exterior applications. We partner with leading design material manufacturers and aim to inspire, educate, solve, and supply in collaboration with multidisciplinary design and fabrication communities. Role Description As a Willis Material Application Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with fabrication and millwork partners to drive sales in the OR territory. You will have a passion for customer service, a drive to succeed/reach sales targets and strong communication skills. Responsibilities
Territory – Oregon – 80% of the accounts are in the greater Portland Area. The candidate will be part of an experienced team and will work directly with the Fabrication Rep in the same market. Build/create and maintain long-term relationships with Architects & Designers, General Contractors, Solid Surface and Stone Fabricators, and Millworkers. Present Lunch and Learns/Snack and Learns in person, or digitally, to Commercial Architect & Designers, Developers and Facility Management/Designers to educate them on product attributes and applications. Track commercial project progression from design/specification from A&D through development and construction stages with fabricators and millworkers utilizing company tracking methods, including Salesforce and other internal systems. Generate sales quotes, when budgetary pricing is needed, with a pricing specialist and manage sales pipeline in Oregon. Update architectural and design libraries with samples of our products. Develop sales objectives, strategies, and forecasts with the territory manager. Report activities, progress, market information, new ideas, expenses, and other relevant data as appropriate or requested. Be involved in related industry associations, such as the IIDA, AIA and NKBA etc. and network to build stronger relationships and position oneself as a trusted advisor. Other tasks as required Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in sales, marketing, and customer relationship management within the design or building materials industry. Experience as a sales representative, B2B experience a must, min 3-5 years. Dependable, cooperative team player with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives working on their own Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM tracking systems Highly self-motivated and target-driven Excellent selling, priority management, organizational and follow-up skills with an ability to interact with a diverse client base Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and professional demeanour Interest in design and construction Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience's needs Travel
Ability to travel daily within the designated sales territory. Candidates will use their own vehicle on the road visiting clients and be compensated monthly with a generous automotive allowance to cover fuel and other vehicle expenses. Overnight travel is not necessary to maintain most accounts, but it may be required throughout the year for company events, trade shows, sales meetings, etc. Monthly car allowance Employee assistance program Life insurance Paid time off Work from home License/Certification
