Overview
The Plant Controller will oversee all financial operations within the manufacturing facility, ensuring accuracy in reporting, cost control, and compliance. This role is pivotal in supporting strategic decision-making and driving operational efficiency across departments. Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Lead cost accounting and variance analysis, including monitoring Work in Process (WIP) inventory across departments and ensuring accurate valuation and timely movement of WIP to finished goods. Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to align WIP tracking with demand schedules. Develop and maintain overhead allocation models; analyze fixed and variable overhead variances monthly. Collaborate with operations and production teams to analyze variances and improve cost performance; present findings to leadership and recommend cost-saving initiatives. Direct Labor Variance: track labor efficiency and rate variances; partner with HR and operations to align labor standards with actuals; support workforce planning and productivity improvement efforts. Lead month-end close and ensure accurate reporting of plant financials; maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP. Prepare and present margin analysis, including volume, price, mix, and cost drivers. Budgeting & Forecasting: develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts for plant operations; support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis; maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP; provide financial insights to senior leadership. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred 5+ years of experience in manufacturing finance or plant controlling Strong understanding of cost accounting and ERP systems Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Seniority level
