We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role maintains accurate financial records and ensures compliance with government contracting requirements. You will work in a collaborative environment where your contributions directly support our operations and financial integrity. Key Responsibilities

Process Financial Transactions : Review, verify, and code vendor invoices and employee expense reports with accuracy and attention to detail Ensure Compliance : Match purchase orders, vendor agreements, and receiving documentation with invoices while maintaining comprehensive records that meet DCAA standards Manage General Ledger Activities : Record all AP transactions to the appropriate GL accounts, cost centers, and projects; maintain detailed tracking of advance payments and prepaid accounts Vendor Relations : Communicate professionally with vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive working relationships Maintain Documentation : Keep organized, audit-ready records of vendor invoices, purchase orders, and approvals Tax Compliance : Prepare 1099 forms and provide support for year-end tax reporting requirements System Administration : Set up new vendor accounts in QuickBooks and Unanet; configure new hire accounts in our timekeeping system and assign appropriate charge codes Team Support : Serve as backup for payroll processing to ensure continuity of operations Required Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting 3–5 years of accounting experience, with preference given to candidates with government contracting background Strong understanding of GAAP principles and DCAA compliance requirements Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities Strong communication skills for vendor interactions and cross-functional collaboration Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Indirect Rate Structures (Fringe, Overhead, G&A) Prior participation in external audits or DCAA reviews Knowledge of timekeeping compliance and labor distribution rules Compensation

Pay range for this role $75,000 - $105,000 USD What\u2019s in it for you

This role is located onsite in San Luis Obispo, CA. Note about Texas roles: we are opening a location on the mid-west side of the DFW metro region. Roles in Texas will initially work remotely and then be onsite when that location opens in 2026. Compliance and Eligibility
