Overview
Head of Finance & Growth is a key member of the UGP team who will serve as a trusted partner to the CEO & COO. This position will require deep analytical skills to drive the strategic finance function and help the company achieve its ambitious expansion plans. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role at the table, ideal for someone who wants to own strategic initiatives, lead financial modeling, and help the company execute across all functions. This role is designed to grow into a future UGP executive leader (for example, but not limited to, CFO) — someone who brings financial rigor, strategic thinking, and a passion for scaling a high-growth business. Location: Costa Mesa, CA (On-site, 5 days/week) Company Overview: Urban Golf Performance (UGP) is redefining the golf training and fitness experience through a unique blend of swing coaching, strength & conditioning, physical therapy, and custom club fitting. UGP brings all aspects of golf improvement under one roof to deliver elite-level golf coaching to amateurs, combined with world-class hospitality. With clients like Collin Morikawa & Min Woo Lee, UGP is also a presence at the highest levels of the sport travelling with pros on both the PGA & LPGA tours as their recovery team of choice. With brand visibility on the Tour, a strong foundation in Southern California and Austin, and ambitious plans for national expansion, UGP is building one of the most innovative platforms in golf. What You’ll Do
Site Expansion & Other Growth Initiatives Partner with CEO & COO to refine UGP’s short- and long-term strategic initiatives to enable the company’s broader expansion goals, including reaching 20+ locations over the coming years. Develop new location roadmap and site selection framework; work with UGP’s real estate advisors to evaluate potential locations in target markets and prepare recommendations for leadership. Help oversee and project manage retail unit buildouts keeping projects on time & on budget. Financial Planning & Reporting Oversee accounting function and work with controller to lead financial planning & analysis, cash flow forecasting, and monthly & quarterly board reporting. Develop and maintain a financial model that will serve as the company’s growth road map. Revamp data analytics function & KPI tracking to sharpen performance monitoring and inform strategic decisions. Own the financial modeling “underwriting” process for all business initiatives, including new locations, partnerships, and other strategic priorities. Strategy & Operating Support “Jack of all trades” supporting the operating team across key business initiatives such as recruiting, pricing strategy, compensation structures, etc. Identify and operationalize best practices bridging the gap between finance and operations as UGP expands to new markets and builds its infrastructure. Help company evaluate and prepare for future debt and/or equity financings. What We’re Looking For
4–6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or operations. Strong track record in financial modeling and scenario analysis with the ability to visualize data, build financial models, and present findings clearly. Deep understanding of accounting and financial reporting. Excellent project management skills; able to juggle multiple initiatives and keep teams aligned. Strong commercial judgment and emotional intelligence. Clear and persuasive communicator, able to flex between detail and big-picture strategy. A personal passion for golf and fitness.
