Position information refers to a Data Scientist role with a strong emphasis on machine learning, data science, analytics, and software engineering, with a requirement for working in an NSA/CSS data environment and supporting mission needs with data-driven solutions. Responsibilities
Design/implement machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming (skill in at least one high-level language, e.g., Python), statistical analysis, data management, data mining, data modeling and assessment, artificial intelligence, and/or software engineering. Experience in more than one area is strongly preferred. Apply foundational activities across Mathematics, Computational disciplines, and Statistics; data processing, visualization, and workflow reproducibility; and modeling/inference/prediction to extract meaning and value from large datasets. Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions into technical requirements and assist others in drawing appropriate conclusions from data analyses. Communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical audiences; make informed recommendations regarding technical solutions while staying aware of evolving NSA/CSS capabilities and limitations. Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing and assessing large datasets, considering data cleanliness and structure and NSA/CSS data considerations. Collaborate with teams to ensure analytic questions align with mission needs and that conclusions are well supported by data. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience in a related field. Degree must be in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, or Computer Science. Related fields may be considered with substantial mathematics and computer science coursework (e.g., linear algebra, probability and statistics, machine learning, algorithms, data structures, data mining, artificial intelligence). Note: A broader range of degrees will be considered if accompanied by a Certificate in Data Science from an accredited college/university. CLEARANCE REQUIRED: TS/SCI with Polygraph. Compensation: Typical salary range starts at $100,000 to $180,000, with consideration for exceptional candidates; includes comprehensive rewards beyond base salary.
