Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (subject to change based on department needs) Overview: The Industrial Hygienist Specialist II supports the development, implementation, and improvement of industrial hygiene programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment within a biopharmaceutical manufacturing and research setting. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and controlling occupational health risks related to chemical, biological, and physical hazards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct exposure assessments for airborne contaminants, noise, and other occupational hazards. Develop and implement monitoring strategies and sampling plans. Interpret industrial hygiene data and recommend engineering or administrative controls. Support risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and materials. Partner with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Facilities, and EH&S. Maintain compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, and other applicable regulations. Develop and deliver training on industrial hygiene and occupational health. Maintain accurate records, reports, and technical documentation. Serve as EH&S contact for regulatory inspections. Conduct safety walks, audits, and review site safety plans. Approve work permits for non-routine, high-risk activities. Collect and analyze data for regulatory reporting and environmental performance. Deliver safety training to ensure regulatory and management system compliance. Utilize MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) for documentation and reporting. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field. 3–5 years of industrial hygiene experience, preferably in biopharma or life sciences. Strong knowledge of IH sampling equipment and analytical methods. Solid analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. CIH certification () or actively working toward certification. Additional Considerations: Four years of relevant experience with a B.S. in a related field, or a two-year technical diploma with applicable experience, may be considered.
